Terms of Service

I love my clients, and it means a lot to me that we build a healthy, happy working relationship together. I promise to carry out work for you to the best of my ability, in exchange for you agreeing to respect my terms of service. Details of these terms, as well as some general information, are laid out on the page below. If you hire me to make edits to your website, you are agreeing to these terms, so please do read them through.

Note: These terms are for website edits made for existing clients. For terms of my full website design services, please see your individual contract of work.

Get Prepared

I will begin work on requested website edits once I have received all content and other information I may have requested.

To get the most out of working with me, be as prepared as possible. Before you get in touch, check you have the following:

  • All text written
  • All images collected
  • Clear instructions as to what edits you want making, and what pages they are on
  • When you need the changes done by
  • A budget

If you want something implemented but are unsure as to what is possible, or have any confusion, please do contact me. I am very happy to put forward suggestions, and talk through potential options so you can make an informed decision. Sometimes two heads is better than one!

Working hours
I work flexible hours between 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday. I am not available outside of these hours.

If you contact me by other means I may not receive and respond to your message.

I reserve my phone for pre-arranged calls. If you would like to speak to me at any point, please send an email requesting to arrange a phone appointment. If I think it would be beneficial for us to talk over the phone, I will contact you to arrange a time for us to speak.

Availability & Deadlines
I recommend contacting me as early as possible if you want work completed for a specific time, as I may not be able to begin work for a week or two after the initial request. However, I am very happy to book time into my diary to complete work weeks or even months in advance.

If you have a deadline you wish to meet, please let me know in your initial contact about the work. I will let you know whether I am able to meet your deadline.

Content

You can send content to me via email at rhiannon@rhiannonadler.co.uk or through services such as Google Docs, Dropbox, WeTransfer or MailBigFile using the same email address.

All content for website amendments must be provided by you. I may be willing to source images on your behalf by written agreement, which will be chargeable at hourly rates (not including additional costs for stock photography).

Images

Please send all images as high resolution jpgs (in their original format). Do not send images embedded in documents, such as Microsoft Word or Pages documents.

Graphics

Please send logos and other graphics as transparent pngs where possible, or send the original design files (e.g. .ai or .eps)

Rates

My rates are currently £30/hour, and I charge in hourly increments. My hourly rate is reserved solely for existing clients.

I will give an estimated cost for each piece of website editing work requested.

Payment

In the majority of cases, invoices will be emailed after work completion for the full amount of work. Due dates and details for payment can be found on your invoice.

If a project is delayed for more than 2 weeks for any reason, I will send an invoice for the amount of work carried out up until that point, payable upon receipt.

Late Payments

Late payments will incur a fee of 3% for every week the overdue invoice remains unpaid. If you have an exceptional circumstance for a delayed payment, please do let me know as soon as you can.

SEO
If you wish me to make SEO amendments along with any work I carry out, please let me know. I will not made SEO adjustments unless specifically asked to do so.
Urgent issues
If you have an urgent request, I will try to get back to you as soon as I can within my working hours. I cannot guarantee same-day responses, or priority treatment, but I will always try to help out as soon as I am able.

Depending on the nature of your problem, you may find it beneficial to contact your hosting provider. I particularly recommend this if your website is entirely offline, or experiencing slow response times. They’re often a really friendly and helpful bunch!

Hosting & Domain issues
I am not responsible for domain or hosting issues that may arise with your website or related services.

If you are having troubles, please contact your hosting or domain provider directly for support. Not only will you likely get your problem resolved much faster and cheaper, many times the support team need to speak directly to you to fully understand the nature of the problem.

Companies such as Siteground have excellent support, and often have chat support if you don’t want to spend time on the phone. So far, Siteground have solved every problem I’ve had within 5 minutes!

Software updates
When I make website edits, it may be necessary to perform any software updates required on your site. This includes core WordPress updates, theme updates and plugin updates. These updates, and correcting any design issues that may arise, is chargeable at hourly rates (though often not a timely process). I will take a full backup of the website before I perform any updates.

If you would prefer me not to make these updates, please ensure you keep your website software up to date. You can request I don’t perform the updates, but do be aware this may mean I am unable to carry out the edits you require.

Legal stuff
I’ll carry out my work in accordance with good industry practice. That said, I can’t guarantee that my work will be error-free and so I can’t be liable to you or any third party for damages, including lost profits, lost savings or other incidental, consequential or special damages, even if you’ve advised me of them.

It is your responsibility to seek legal advice and ensure your website and business meets UK, EU or any other legal standards.

You guarantee that all elements of text, images or other artwork you provide are either owned by your good selves, or that you have permission to use them. When you provide text, images or other artwork to me, you agree to protect me from any claim by a third party that I’m using their intellectual property.
